Micromobility and E-Moto Device Regulations
The long-debated ordinance regulating e-bikes and e-motos was held for two weeks so the public can review amendments — including a softened dismount zone on the Monon, speed-matched helmet rules, and clarifications that e-motos don't include e-bikes. A proposal to set a minimum age of 12 for class one and two e-bikes is coming, and electric unicycles remain a regulatory gap.
116th Street Pedestrian Bridge Project
The city was to consider a $2.68 million INDOT-partnered agreement for bike and pedestrian facilities along 116th Street between Hoover and Spring Mill Roads. This affects anyone who bikes or walks on one of Carmel's busiest east-west corridors.
